Way Longer Lasting Hair Color

Colure® Blog Post

There’s nothing better than fresh hair color from the salon. Your hair color looks vibrant, healthy and youthful. Unless you take care of your hair at home before and after visiting the salon, you’ll be disappointed in just a few short weeks and or in some cases even less. Those beautiful rich brunette tones get muddy and dull looking. The gorgeous shades of blonde suddenly look brassy, and the vibrant coppers and reds just don’t look so vibrant anymore. Quickly you’re frustrated, Google searching the internet for tips on how to prevent your color from fading. Most advice from the so-call beauty experts falls short of understanding the cause of why hair color fades.

Here are two things to consider before coloring. (1) Determine the health and quality of the hair. Check for build-up from styling products, hard water deposits, chlorine. Applying permanent hair color onto hair with build-up will cause the dye to process on the surface and barely penetrate the cortex layer of the hair shaft where it must go to obtain maximum coverage. In this case, we recommend using COLURE’s Clean Start Shampoo to rid the hair of build-up. (2) Determine the quality of the hair, if the hair is in bad condition, such as split ends, rough, dry and signs of breakage. Then a protein and moisture treatment are needed to restore, repair and hydrate. When the quality of hair is at it’s best, the longer hair color will last. For this, we recommend using COLURE’s Reparative Spray Plus and Regenerative Hair Masque. Consider these two tips a must do to obtain the best color take before your next hair coloring.
